Job Description
The student will manage all devices in the Carter Usability Lab. The student will ensure that all devices are update and ready to use. The student will be responsible for the checkout of devices to students, faculty, and staff for educational purposes only. Students majoring or minoring in UX will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all lab equipment (e.g., iPads, iMacs, Apple watches, iPhones, Oculus Quest)
- Ensure that the lab equipment is up to date
- Follow guidelines for allowing students, faculty, and staff to borrow devices in the lab for educational purposes
- Research industry trends to bring in new technology
- Promote lab usage among UX students and faculty
- Plan and run lab open house events several times throughout the year
- Install software on lab equipment
- Assist students in using lab equipment
Requirements:
- Strong interests in Apple technology and User Experience
- Familiarity with UX/usability research and methods
- Familiarity with media software experience, especially Adobe CC applications
- Ability to communicate policies and procedures to students and visitors
- Ability to work under pressure and execute tasks before deadline
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to learn new technology and software
