High School Partners

High school partners are a select number of publicly and privately funded high schools that reflect the student demographics essential for moving MSOE forward in its vision of preparing leaders to solve the diverse technical challenges of the 21st century. These schools exemplify academic excellence and meet/exceed Wisconsin college readiness outcomes for their historically underrepresented and underserved student populations.

Community & Destination Partners

Community and destination partners are organizations that support historically underrepresented, first-generation and low-income students from pre-college through graduate education. MSOE offers pre-college programming and financial aid/scholarship support to admitted and currently enrolled students who have participated in one or more of the following community and destination partner programs:

* Thanks to a generous donation from SC Johnson, the STEM Scholars Pathway encourages students to pursue in-demand STEM related degrees while receiving some financial support. High school seniors apply for this program to complete their 2-year degree with our partner Gateway Technical College and then finish their 4-year degree at MSOE in either Electrical Engineering or BBA-Management Information Systems. STEM Scholar students will receive a $7,500 scholarship each year at Gateway Technical College and then will continue to receive the $7,500 scholarship for their 2 final years at MSOE. This scholarship will then be matched by MSOE.  

Eligible Gateway Tech programs: Electrical Engineering Technology, IT-Cybersecurity Specialist, IT-Data Analytics Specialist, IT-Network Specialist, IT-Software Developer, IT-Web Software Developer

Program applicants must:

• Be female, or an underrepresented student of color, or a low-income student
• Be a graduating senior attending a Racine County High school and residing within the Racine Unified School District
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the time of application

Senior Design Scholars Program

The MSOE Senior Design Scholars Program, sponsored by American Family Insurance, is designed specifically for high school seniors who have been admitted to MSOE. During the final term of their senior year of high school, they get to be a part of an MSOE Senior Design Team and work on a real collegiate project, and participate in the Senior Design Showcase. Details regarding the program are included below.

DEIB Scholarships

General Scholarship Application

• The general scholarship application is a single application that students submit and qualifies them for all donor-funded scholarships. Donor-funded scholarships are awarded beginning in January and throughout the spring. Click here for information on general scholarships.

Johnson Controls Scholarship

• The Johnson Controls Scholarship is a cohort-based scholarship model that provides students with tuition assistance, funds for on-campus housing and stipends for professional development. The amount of the award scales up each year, with senior students ultimately receiving $7,500 in scholarships and $1,000 for professional development.  To be considered for the scholarship, you must fill out the scholarship general application.
• The recipients of the scholarships shall be selected by a Scholarship Committee approved by the University in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid and the Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Inclusion.
• Scholarships are renewable provided the student continues to meet the criteria, and the Committee members authorize the renewal. 

The scholarship shall be awarded to individuals who:

• Are enrolled at MSOE and pursuing a baccalaureate degree in engineering
• Have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 or a minimum MSOE GPA of 2.75
• Are permanent residents of Wisconsin
• Preference is given to women and underrepresented populations
