'Artists at Work' features Cedarburg guild
Local artists are the focus of the Grohmann Museum’s newest special exhibition, Artists at Work. In collaboration with the Cedarburg Artists Guild/Art on the Move, 42 works by 14 artists will be on display May 19 through Aug. 20. The guild, along with a cadre of Milwaukee artists, was provided the opportunity to create new works – all with a working or industrial theme – specifically for this display. Guild members readily accepted this challenge and created paintings, photos and prints for inclusion.
“We appreciate the opportunity to work with such a wonderful museum and look forward to sharing our versions of human industry,” said Susan Steinhafel, guild director. “Artists at Work, is a diverse and fascinating representation of the Cedarburg Artists Guild/Art on the Move.”
Artists represented in the exhibition include: Bill Aubrey, Jeff Darrow, Patrick Doughman, Shelby Keefe, Hal Koenig, Cheri Morfe, Jack Pachuta, Jewell Riano-Bradley, Lynn Rix, Pam Ruschman, Michael Santini, Jerry Steingraeber, Susan Steinhafel and Paul Yank.
The Grohmann Museum, 1000 N. Broadway, is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for students and seniors; free for children under 12. MSOE students (with ID), alumni, faculty and staff are admitted free.
