Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Chapter hosted the Annual SAE Milwaukee Section Student Night 2020-21 in January. The Milwaukee SAE student sections include Marquette University, Michigan Tech, MSOE, Northern Michigan University, UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee.

During the event, students showcased their collegiate designs and vehicles via video presentations. Professionals and guests watched the videos and took a survey to judge the presentations. Students were able to demonstrate their presentation skills to a professional audience and provide an overview of their section and accomplishments.

Representatives from each university spoke about their respective collegiate section, covering topics such as chapter activities and meeting topics, results of past design competitions, community outreach, leadership development and lessons learned over the past year.

At the conclusion of the event, MSOE’s SAE Student Chapter was awarded top honors and first place with a grant of $2,420. The students may use the grant to enhance their section or improve vehicle projects as they see fit.

The Milwaukee SAE Section is the premier professional engineering society for the Milwaukee and surrounding area. It strives to support its nearly 1,000 professional members and its SAE student sections. Student section support is provided by funding during annual student night competitions, volunteering and networking opportunities.
