Kendall G. Breunig, Bernard A. Cohen, Ph.D. and Richard G. Galling have joined the Board of Regents at MSOE. In addition, five individuals were added as MSOE Corporation members.

Kendall G. Breunig ’79 is principal of Sunset Investors in Franklin, Wis. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural and Building Construction Engineering Technology from MSOE and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University. As a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, Breunig’s career has focused on real estate development and management. Sunset Investors led the redevelopment of the historically designated Pritzlaff Building, Plankinton Lofts and Commission House Condominiums in Milwaukee, and several condominium complexes in Germantown, Franklin and New Berlin, Wis. In addition, he is president of Breunig Engineering Inc., managing member of E Z Self Storage LLP, and corporate secretary of Coating Place Inc. Breunig has served as an MSOE Corporation member since 2002.

Bernard A. Cohen, Ph.D. ’71 is the founder and president of Neurological Monitoring Associates LLC (NMA). He graduated from MSOE in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and obtained his Ph.D. from Marquette University in 1975. His career has been devoted to research work involving analysis of electrical activity of the brain and nervous system. Cohen has been a member of the faculty of the Emory University Medical School, Medical College of Wisconsin and MSOE. He is currently in private practice focusing on intraoperative monitoring. He has published more than 100 papers and book chapters and is a frequently invited speaker nationally and internationally. Cohen has served as an MSOE Corporation member since 2001, was named an Outstanding Alumnus in 1976, and inducted into the Alumni Wall of Fame in 2006. He is a Fellow of both the American Society for Neurophysiological Monitoring and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. He is certified in neurological intraoperative monitoring. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin.

Richard G. Galling ’75 is president and chief operating officer of Hammes Co. in Brookfield, Wis. He is responsible for directing the company’s service line divisions and regional locations. He is considered a national leading expert on the planning and development of hospitals and ambulatory facilities, having personally directed the development of more than 100 facilities over a 25-year period. Galling is often quoted in national publications and speaks regularly at various industry associations and trade groups. Previously, Galling was the director of development for the Henry S. Reuss Federal Plaza and the corporate headquarters of Northwestern Mutual Life, both in Milwaukee, and served in the same capacity for the University Place mixed-use development in Charlotte, N.C. Galling has served as an MSOE Corporation member since 2013. He sits on the board of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and is board president of the Three Harbors Council – Boy Scouts of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural and Building Construction Engineering Technology from MSOE.

Dr. Dwight Diercks ’90 returns to the Board of Regents from Regent Emeritus status. Regents Robert Arzbaecher, Dr. Michael Barber ’82, Dr. Michael Borden, Dr. Willie Davis, Paul Luber, Brian Stark ’71 and Dr. James Wigdale are now Regents Emeriti.

Since it was founded in 1903, MSOE has benefitted from the advice and support of volunteer leaders. Meaningful involvement is the most accurate way to describe the manner in which MSOE’s Board of Regents and Corporation members assume their responsibilities. Comprised of representatives of business, industry, government and education, the Board of Regents governs the operations and the future planning of the university.
