Harnessing Your Power is the theme of the 2023 Women Developing Wisconsin Conference. The annual conference provides learning and networking opportunities to empower women in male-dominated fields. It will be held Thursday, May 4 from noon to 5 p.m. at Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Francesca Mayca Wegner, executive director of Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee, is the keynote speaker. In “The Fierce Soñadora: The Magic of Standing in Your Power to Reach Your Dreams,” she will share her story as the daughter of a Peruvian immigrant and Midwest Latina who has not let the worst thing that ever happened to her define who she is or keep her from getting what she wants.

Following the keynote presentation, the empowerment panel discussion will focus on Standing in Your Power and a fireside chat will highlight the redevelopment of the Bronzeville District.

Registration is $75 for professionals and free for students. It includes an afternoon of learning, panel discussions and networking. In total, conference attendees will hear from 11 local female leaders.   Registration information and a complete schedule can be found at msoe.edu/wdw.

The funds raised through the Women Developing Wisconsin Conference are used to support students through scholarships and sponsoring their attendance at industry conferences.
