Institute of Transportation Engineers
MSOE student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is committed to assisting in the education of civil engineering students through exposure to the various facets that exist within transportation engineering and networking opportunities that allow students to foster interpersonal connections with industry professionals. Professional engineers in the industry will be brought in as guest speakers, tours at various facilities relating to transportation engineering will be coordinated, and various other events will available for all who are interested. Additionally, we spend some time cleaning up STH 100 from Burleigh St to Capitol Drive through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Program.
Math and Actuarial Science Club
The Math and Actuarial Science Club involves students interested in modeling data and calculating risk with a mentorship program, professional exam study materials/groups as well as registration guidance, social activities, servant-leadership, and opportunities to learn more about Actuarial Science through panels, presentations, and guest speakers.
Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA)
MCAA has more than 50 student chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada. The connections through the organization help students find internships and jobs with some of the industry’s most innovative mechanical contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers. Each year, we participate against other student chapters in a national competition involving a real construction project. Chapter teams prepare proposals—including resumes, scope of work, estimate, schedule, safety procedures, design options and more—that respond to the requirements of an RFP (Request for Proposal). A team of judges from MCAA’s Career Development Committee reviews the entries and chooses the “final four” teams. These teams present their proposals at MCAA annual convention. MCAA will send out meeting times and locations when the competition picks up.
