STEM Organizations
MSOE provides students a wide variety range of organizations to showcase classroom skills in real world applications and competitions. Many of MSOE’s STEM Organizations win national and international awards in their fields.

Fluid Power Club (FPC)
The Fluid Power Club provides a place where students can gain a better understanding of fluid power principles, either through the use of guest speakers from industry leading companies or through projects that use these concepts.
Google Developer Student Club
Developer Student Clubs are university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. Students from all undergraduate or graduate programs with an interest in growing as a developer are welcome. By joining a DSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community.
Midnight Robotics
Midnight Robotics seeks to create engineering opportunities for students by creating an organization that can facilitate the growth, understanding, and real world application of engineering principles/concepts through the design, fabrication, and testing of combat robots.
MSOE Artificial Intelligence Club (MAIC)
The MSOE Artificial Intelligence club exists to connect students to opportunities related to AI. We provide educational activities and presentations, connect students to mentors in the MSOE faculty and Milwaukee community, and host community outreach events to increase public awareness of AI concepts.
MSOE Robotics
MSOE Robotics serves as a hub for students who are interested in robotics at MSOE. Combining professional opportunities, competitive project teams, and volunteering events, we aim to help students find their passion in robotics and provide plenty of opportunities for them to learn. We partner with various FIRST Programs in the area to support the robotics ecosystem in Milwaukee, giving students an opportunity to mentor and volunteer in-need teams in the area. Competitive teams allow students to expand on their technical abilities and compete against other universities in multi-disciplinary events.
Raider 3D
Raider 3D is MSOE's 3D-printing club! Join the Raider 3D community to discuss all things 3D-printing, get help with your printer, and have fun!
Raider Robotics VEX U
Raider Robotics VEX U is a student run collegiate robotics team with three main goals: 1) community outreach through the support of local FIRST robotics programs, 2) professional development of students through connections with local businesses and experts in STEM industries, 3) and competition in college level competitive robotics.
Robotic Surgery Club
The MSOE Robotic Surgery Club is a student led organization that explores topics related to the advancement of medical technology and treatment. We offer project opportunities, learning experiences, and various other ways to get involved this coming school year.
Society of Automotive Engineers: Baja Club Team
The Baja Club Team is an organization dedicated to designing, building, testing, and competing with a compliant vehicle for SAE Mini Baja competition(s). Members will gain hands on experience, learn to work effectively in teams, and reap the rewards of building something with their own hands that will positively represent both themselves and MSOE alike.
Society of Automotive Engineers: Formula Hybrid
The MSOE SAE Formula Hybrid team consists of about 40 members from several engineering majors. The goal of the project is to create a vehicle to compete in the SAE Formula Hybrid competition which takes place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway every May. The team designs, builds, and tests the car at MSOE. In 2022, the team achieved 1st place in the Hybrid category, and also earned an IEEE award for Project Management.
Society of Automotive Engineers: SuperMileage Team
SAE Supermileage is an engineering design competition for undergraduate and graduate students. The program provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their engineering design and project management skills by applying learned classroom theories in a challenging competition. The engineering design goal for SAE Supermileage is to develop and construct a single-person, fuel-efficient vehicle that complies with the competition rules. The vehicles will run a specified course to obtain the highest combined kilometers per liter (miles per gallon) rating; students will be exposed to a design segment consisting of a written report and verbal presentation.
Steel Bridge
The Steel Bridge team prepares to compete in an annual competition that challenges student teams to develop a scale-model steel bridge. The team must determine how to fabricate their bridge and then plan for an efficient assembly under timed construction at the competition.
Space Raiders (NASA Lunar Robotics)
The purpose of MSOE Space Raiders is to supply students with the opportunity to design, fabricate, build, program, and test a lunar rover over the course of the academic year. This rover must be capable of completing industrial-based tasks on a simulated lunar surface. MSOE Space Raiders competes at a collegiate level in the NASA Lunabotics Competition, held annually at the Kennedy Space Center.
