The BSN-ASD is a compressed, year-round curriculum designed to enable students to enter the workforce as professional nurses in approximately 18 months, assuming the student has met all of the prerequisites.
The Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing is a program for students who already hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and may be considering a career change. Students accepted into the Direct Entry MSN program will complete their accelerated BSN first, and then be directly admitted into either MSN program: MSN Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or MSN Leadership & Management.
The total time spent between the accelerated BSN and MSN Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs is 39 months. The total time spent between the accelerated BSN and MSN Leadership and Management programs is 33 months. Both completion dates pend student progression through each program.

Following graduation, our nursing graduates are highly sought after by health care organizations. The variety of clinical opportunities, the number of clinical hours (≈ 750 hours) and lab hours (≈ 200 hours), plus participation in at least 20 simulations prepares students to transition to the role of the professional nurse.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the master's degree program in nursing at Milwaukee School of Engineering are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org) and have full approval of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (http://dsps.wi.gov)

MSOE offers two Direct Entry MSN options for individuals with a B.S. or B.A. in another field who are ready for a career change: the Leadership and Management Track and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track. When applying for this program on our website, please apply as a Transfer student. When you apply as a transfer student you will be able to choose Nursing (Direct Entry MSN). For financial purposes, students will enter this program at the undergraduate level.
